Spain go into the Nations League decider for top spot against England without the injured Barcelona trio of Rodri, Dani Olmo and Eric García. Luis de la Fuente has handed first senior call-ups to two Betis players and to Real Madrid academy product Jacobo Ramón.
Víctor Muñoz is the fourth player ruled out through injury. Spain arrive in form. They came from behind to win 2-1 in Croatia on 6 October, with Mikel Merino scoring both goals. That made it 11 wins in a row. England beat Czechia 3-0 on the same night, with Harry Kane scoring twice.
Betis pair and Jacobo Ramón earn first senior call-ups
Valles, 29, will compete for a place in goal. He has played every minute for Betis this season: 11 league games and all four of their games in the top European competition. Roca turns 30 on 26 November, and his call-up follows a long run of injuries. Jacobo Ramón, the third newcomer, plays in defence for Como and came through the Real Madrid academy.
Valles is one of four goalkeepers in the group. Barcelona’s Joan García is also back between the posts after injury kept him out of the previous squad. Pedro Porro, Nico Williams and Ferran Torres return for the same reason.
Pablo Barrios of Atlético and Ander Barrenetxea of Real Sociedad are also recalled.
Some familiar names are missing for other reasons. Marcos Llorente is absent because he has retired from international football.
The absences in midfield are the most striking. Without Rodri and Olmo, the call for Roca gives De la Fuente another option in the centre of the pitch. Pedri and Fermín are both included.
Atlético–Barcelona clash comes hours before players report
Several of the squad will be in action on Sunday before joining up. Atlético host Barcelona at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Sunday 8 November at 21:00. It is LaLiga matchday 12.
The game carries real weight at the top of the table. Barcelona lead the league on 30 points. Atlético have won their last seven league matches and can go top with an eighth.

Barcelona will send Joan García, Pau Cubarsí, Pedri, Fermín and Lamine Yamal to the national team after the game. Atlético supply Marc Pubill, Álex Grimaldo, Álex Baena and Barrios. That leaves both clubs with a quick turnaround for a large group of players.
The squad reports on Monday 9 November. Spain then face Czechia at the Epet Arena in Prague on Thursday 12 November, with kick-off at 20:45.
